The Good Shepherd

A good example of how Rosco's custom backdrops are developed and used is the film "The Good Shepherd", which earned an Academy Award nomination for art direction. The production used eight custom backings from Rosco. Five were day/night backdrops and three were back lit. Images ranged from the suburbs of Washington, D.C. to the Dominican Republic. The image of World War II London was pulled from the Rosco Image Bank. The original photo was shot years earlier, but was digitally reworked to remove modern features such as high rise buildings. No lights were permitted in the night image to simulate wartime blackout conditions.
